It is with great pride and anticipation that Street Smart Youth Project Inc. presents our 7th annual 2018 Rally for Prevention and Recovery. We hope that you can join in the movement toward health promotion and wellness in English Avenue and be in attendance at the event!
The month of September serves as National Recovery Month, and organizations all across the country are joining forces to host events celebrating the living testimonies of persons in recovery. On Saturday, September 29th from 2pm- 6pm, at 740 Cameron M. Alexander Blvd. between Griffin St. and James P. Brawley. Atlanta- based grass- roots community organization, Street Smart Youth Project, will be hosting a celebration to recognize those in recovery while promoting the importance of alcohol and substance use prevention. Our goal is to not only provide community support for those in recovery, it is also to provide healthy alternatives for youth in an effort to promote prevention. It is important for us to face these issues head on, setting an example for grass-roots change in our communities. We will have partners at the event specifically in the health (prevention/treatment/wellness), housing, and vocational arenas.
This event will bring together local residents, community leaders, service providers and the recovery community to commemorate National Recovery Month and to promote the benefits of prevention, treatment and recovery for all community members. Street Smart Youth Project will bring together key stakeholders and committed organizations to provide access to resources which will serve the needs of community members.
With your support, we will continue to promote health education and prevention efforts for our community! If you have any questions or if you would like to make arrangements to be put on the program, please contact me at 770-573-2696. Thank you in advance for your support.
